Student life in Canada
University curriculums in Canada combines class room teaching with practical learning so that you can succeed in your future. Besides there is plenty of activities outside the universities. Canada is generally a very progressive, diverse, and multicultural country. So, if you are considering living there, especially in one of its major cities, this is one of the benefits for foreigners.
You also have the opportunity to work 20 hours a week during semesters. Work while you study, help your spouse or common-law partner get a work permit while you study, work temporarily or stay permanently in Canada after you graduate as an international student.
Post-graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
Get 3 years work visa with 2 years of study. You may be eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) if you graduated from a designated learning institution (DLI) and want to stay in Canada temporarily to work. Graduation from a DLI doesn’t automatically make you eligible for a PGWP. Check the DLI list to find out which schools have eligible programs.
During Covid 19, all of the time you spent studying online from outside Canada between spring 2020 and August 31, 2022, counts toward the length of a PGWP. This applies even if you’re completing 2 study programs.
